Northrop Grumman has secured a place on the US Defense Microelectronics Activity’s Advanced Technology Support Program V, making it eligible for task orders with a combined ceiling of up to $25 billion.
ATSP V serves as a rapid-acquisition mechanism to accelerate the adoption of American-made microelectronics across military systems.
The program allows Northrop Grumman to answer government solicitations within 30 days and aims to compress the timeline from proposal submission to contract award to roughly three months.
As an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract, ATSP V provides the Department of Defense and other federal agencies with fast access to engineering expertise in areas such as advanced semiconductor manufacturing, packaging innovations, and next-generation materials development.
Northrop Grumman is one of ten participating companies, alongside Battelle Memorial Institute, Raytheon, General Dynamics Mission Systems, L3Harris Technologies, Leidos, and others.
The award reflects a broader US effort to bolster trusted domestic microelectronics production.
Earlier milestones in this effort include a $3.13-billion GlobalFoundries contract awarded in 2023 and a $576-million IBM deal in 2024 focused on establishing trusted semiconductor manufacturing environments for sensitive defense applications.
