According to local media, Nigeria has introduced its first fleet of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles for the military.
As part of the government’s larger clean energy plan, the fleet—which consists of 20 buses, 50 pickup trucks, and 14 executive transport vehicles—was put into service at the Mogadishu Cantonment in Abuja. CNG offers similar fuel efficiency to that of traditional engines and is appropriate for all vehicle categories, from light to heavy duty, while having reduced tailpipe emissions than gasoline.
Natural gas is compressed to a small proportion of its original volume during the manufacturing process.
