Naval Group has strengthened its Dutch industry network for the Royal Netherlands Navy’s future Orka-class submarines by signing new contracts with Nevesbu and Van Halteren Technologies. Both companies join the growing “Team Orka,” supporting the 2024 Replacement Netherlands Submarine Capability program aimed at phasing out the long-serving Walrus-class fleet. The partnerships align with an Industrial Cooperation Agreement promoting Dutch expertise, maintenance autonomy, and Franco-Dutch maritime collaboration. Nevesbu will design complex subsystems, focusing on noise reduction and precision integration within the submarine’s constrained architecture. Van Halteren will deliver key machinery—hydraulic units, cold-storage systems, anchor winches, and capstans—built to stringent shock-resistance and reliability standards.
