The Russian Navy has taken delivery of the RFS Vladimir Andreyev, the third ship in the Ivan Gren-class series, at a ceremony conducted by Yantar USC in Kaliningrad. This landing ship is part of a long-term plan to enhance Russia’s amphibious warfare capabilities by introducing up to 11 advanced platforms tailored for sea-based troop and equipment transport.

Admiral Alexander Moiseyev and USC’s Svetlana Morik, who served as the ceremonial sponsor, presided over the event. The ship will now enter its final phase of outfitting before undergoing trials. Set to be fully operational by 2026, the Andreyev will be assigned to the Pacific Fleet, where it is intended to replace aging amphibious support ships that have been in service for decades
