L3Harris Technologies has secured a contract to modernize several C-130 aircraft for the Royal Moroccan Air Force. The effort will include upgrades to avionics, overhauls of engines, depot-level maintenance, and various support services. These enhancements aim to boost mission readiness and increase aircraft availability for roles such as tactical transport, humanitarian operations, and special missions. Work will be carried out at the company’s Waco, Texas facility starting this year and is expected to continue through 2029. Known for its rugged performance, the C-130 is capable of operating from dirt runways and can be configured for tasks including personnel and cargo transport, medical evacuation, and vehicle delivery. It can also airdrop payloads up to 42,000 pounds and features high-flotation landing gear for rough terrain operations.
