Kopin Corporation has won a $7.5 million contract to provide microdisplays, which are a crucial part of the helmet-mounted display systems used by military airplane pilots.
According to the Massachusetts-based electronics business, a well-known Pentagon contractor in the aerospace and defense sector granted the contract.
Kopin claims that its state-of-the-art microdisplays are made to increase situational awareness for military pilots who are flying in high-speed, high-pressure environments.
In order for warfighters to make wise and timely judgments in quickly changing circumstances, the displays give them real-time access to vital mission data.
