Germany’s Rheinmetall and India’s Reliance Defense have inked a memorandum of understanding to work together on the manufacturing of ammunition on a big scale._x000D_
Reliance’s creation of a greenfield manufacturing facility in the Watad industrial area in southwest India is a critical component of the partnership, along with the commitment of both firms to cooperate on marketing and growth._x000D_
As part of the agreement, Reliance’s future facility, which is anticipated to produce up to 200,000 artillery shells, 10,000 tonnes of explosives, and 2,000 tonnes of propellants annually, will allow the Indian defense firm to supply explosives and propellants for medium- and large-caliber ammunition to Rheinmetall._x000D_
This setup implies improving the security of Rheinmetall’s supply chain and expanding its access to essential raw materials. Additionally, it will support New Delhi’s Make in India” program, meet its $5 billion defense export goal, and provide the nation’s military.
