Honeywell has collaborated with Odys Aviation to create an airborne counter-drone defense system, expanding protection beyond ground-based setups. The system integrates Honeywell’s SAMURAI counter-UAS technology with the Laila hybrid-electric VTOL aircraft. Designed as a modular architecture, SAMURAI uses layered sensors, AI-powered detection, and communication systems to identify and neutralize drone threats. Its ability to operate without halting movement provides a tactical advantage. The Laila aircraft enhances coverage with long endurance and fuel flexibility, making it suitable for remote and offshore deployments.
