Germany has placed a multi-year order with Rheinmetall for 30mm ammunition for Puma IFVs, valued at around 1 billion euros. The contract expands a 2022 framework agreement and includes several hundred thousand rounds of KE-TF ammunition designed for drones and soft targets. The Puma’s MK30-2/ABM cannon, programmable ammo, and >2,000-meter range support broader fleet reinforcement, alongside upcoming deliveries of 200 additional IFVs and integration of the MELLS ATGM system. Rheinmetall’s AGSP modular simulator will also train crews in realistic combat scenarios.
