Through a local reseller, the Sydney-based firm DroneShield has secured three contracts to provide a European military client with portable drone detection and counter-drone devices, as well as their associated accessories.
The undisclosed number of systems, valued at 61.6 million Australian dollars ($40 million), are expected to be delivered during the third quarter of this year.
According to DroneShield, this is the company’s biggest single transaction ever, exceeding its total revenue of 57.7 million Australian dollars ($37.7 million) in 2024 and coming after another customer’s order of 32.2 million Australian dollars ($21 million) in April.
The company CEO, Oleg Vornik, stated in a statement that “the scale and frequency of orders has been increasing as leading military clients are moving from testing hardware to broader rollouts.”
The Australian business is opening its first European manufacturing and assembly plant, signaling its initial foray outside the nation, in order to satisfy the increase in demand.
The European Centre of Excellence of DroneShield will facilitate manufacturing and assembly, research and development, drone testing, and training, allowing for a minimum of 65% European content for particular solutions.
