Australia’s Electro Optic Systems has signed an $80-million agreement to supply a 100-kilowatt high-energy laser weapon to a South Korean customer, marking its second export success for the system. Designed to counter drones at minimal cost per shot, the laser neutralizes targets in seconds. The deal includes a joint venture and licensed production, with manufacturing supported by EOS’ new Singapore laser facility and deliveries expected by 2027.
