Australian defense company EOS has been awarded a major contract to supply its Slinger counter-UAS system to a Middle Eastern client, reflecting the increasing importance of affordable drone defense technologies. The Slinger combines radar detection, electro-optical sensors, and a precision 30mm cannon to effectively engage aerial threats. Its low cost per engagement makes it an attractive alternative to expensive missile systems, particularly in high-volume threat scenarios. The contract includes system integration, spare parts, and operator training, with manufacturing based in Australia. EOS has also secured additional orders from US customers and is exploring further opportunities in the Middle East. The system’s scalability and ability to integrate into broader defense networks enhance its operational flexibility in protecting critical infrastructure.
