The US Navy has awarded ELTA North America an $11 million contract to design and manufacture advanced airborne communications jammers for integration into fighter aircraft under the Stand-off Jammer (SOJ) Jets program. The effort focuses on high-frequency and ultra-high-frequency systems intended to disrupt adversary communications while allowing aircraft to operate outside hostile threat envelopes. These jammers specifically target handheld and tactical communication bands that remain operationally critical despite advances in radar-focused electronic attack. The SOJ Jets initiative supports carrier strike groups, expeditionary units, and joint forces, complementing broader electronic warfare modernization alongside programs such as the Next Generation Jammer now operational on EA-18G Growlers.
