EDGE Group of the UAE and Spain’s Indra Group will jointly establish a defense manufacturing company in Spain, focused on loitering munitions and smart weapons, aiming to strengthen European defense sovereignty and meet growing regional demand.

The company will combine EDGE’s technological expertise with Indra’s industrial infrastructure. The León-based facility will produce loitering munitions, supported by Indra’s €15–20 million investment to expand drone production capabilities.

The modular manufacturing setup addresses Europe’s increasing need for secure supply chains for critical defense systems, reducing dependency on external suppliers. EDGE’s international expansion includes stakes in Estonia’s Milrem Robotics and Brazil’s SIATT, enhancing its capabilities in robotics, smart weapons, and missile production.

Additionally, EDGE acquired Swiss UAV manufacturer ANAVIA, establishing a new headquarters and prototyping center in Bilten, supporting co-development, technology transfer, and local production across Europe.
