China is gradually revealing details of the Hurricane 3000, a truck-mounted high-power microwave weapon intended to neutralize drones at ranges reportedly surpassing comparable US systems. The system uses radar to detect and track targets, then electro-optical sensors for precise targeting, delivering microwaves to disable threats almost instantly. Its long-range capability positions it for area denial, offering low-cost, near-unlimited engagement potential while minimizing collateral damage. The system was first publicly displayed during a military parade in September, with technical specifications only recently clarified by Norinco.
