Czechia is investing in its special operations forces with the acquisition of 18 Supacat HMT Extenda armored vehicles. The purchase will be carried out by local company LPP, while VTÚ, a state enterprise, will oversee integration of combat systems and electronics. The financial package includes a chassis price of 32.6 million pounds and an additional 810 million koruna for system integration.

These vehicles will phase out aging Land Rovers currently used by the 601st Special Forces Group. Senior defense officials described the move as vital for strengthening the mobility, firepower, and resilience of Czech special units, while aligning with broader NATO modernization efforts.

The Supacat Extenda stands out for its modularity, easily shifting from a 4×4 to a 6×6 configuration by attaching or detaching an axle. Payload capacity varies from 2,100 kilograms to 3,900 kilograms, allowing the transport of specialized gear. Optional armor and mine protection packages further enhance safety in hostile zones.

Capable of seating four or six depending on the variant, the Extenda reaches speeds of 120 km/h and has an endurance of 1,000 kilometers. Already in service with the UK, US, and other allied nations, it ensures high levels of interoperability and logistical support for joint missions.
