Pakistan has confirmed that Azerbaijan has upped its JF-17 Thunder jet order from 16 to 40 fighters.
This follows a 2024 pact to modernize Azerbaijan’s air force in response to regional tensions, especially with Armenia.
Now worth $4.6 billion, the upgraded agreement makes Azerbaijan the biggest JF-17 export customer.
Like the earlier batch, these jets are the Block III variant, boasting advanced radar and electronic systems.
The first units were sent to Baku in September 2024, becoming mission-ready in just a month.
