The US Army has taken another step toward strengthening its industrial base with the opening of a new 40mm grenade production line at AMTEC’s Wisconsin facility. The modernized line replaces manual processes with automation, increasing output of M918E2 training rounds while improving safety and performance. An integrated indoor test range further accelerates testing and certification. The investment forms part of a wider push since 2022 to expand and modernize ammunition manufacturing infrastructure in response to operational demands and allied support requirements.
