The US Army’s xTech Program has awarded $2 million to six winners of its AI Grand Challenge, one of its largest competitions to date. The contest showcased AI tools designed to clean, verify, and refine data to improve efficiency and military operations. Ozni AI won first place with its COMbINE engine, while PeopleTec, Snorkel AI, Latent AI, Exia Labs, and R-DEX Systems earned between $25,000 and $500,000 each, after earlier receiving $35,000 to refine prototypes. Winners now move into a “Plug and Play” accelerator, gaining mentorship and opportunities to integrate their tools into Army programs. The event aligns with the Army’s AI Implementation Plan, which seeks to scale AI across operations. Since 2018, xTech has run 45 contests and awarded over $30 million to foster innovation.
