Anduril, a defense contractor, has introduced a mobile subsurface sensing technology based on artificial intelligence (AI) that is intended to provide vital subsea data in real time. The Seabed Sentry aims to address the drawbacks of existing autonomous subsea sensing systems, which are often isolated and are relatively slow and costly. Current sensing platforms struggle to send data in real time because of the ocean’s enormous size and opaqueness, especially in the absence of significant expenditure in underwater infrastructure.
