The US Air National Guard is exploring the use of immersive virtual reality technology to transform military training through the evaluation of Virtuix’s AI-enabled Omni One simulation platform. The system combines a full-body omnidirectional treadmill, virtual reality headset, motion tracking, and artificial intelligence-generated scenarios to create highly realistic operational environments. Unlike conventional VR systems that rely primarily on handheld controllers, Omni One allows users to physically walk, run, crouch, kneel, and maneuver naturally within digital battlefields. The platform supports mission planning, tactical rehearsals, infantry movement training, and scenario-based exercises while enabling personnel to rehearse complex operations before live field exercises. The evaluation builds upon Virtuix’s growing collaboration with the US military, including projects with AFWERX, the US Marine Corps, and West Point, highlighting the increasing role of immersive simulation technologies in future military readiness.
