Textron Systems has secured a $41-million contract from Akima to support the US Air Force’s T-7A Red Hawk Advanced Pilot Training Program through the Maintenance Training System. Over three years, Textron will design, assemble, and deploy common fuselage structures for three sustainment simulators that train ground crews on component handling, inspections, and operational procedures. The contract includes options worth up to $21 million for additional systems, bringing the potential value to $62 million. Work will be performed at Textron’s Goose Creek facility in South Carolina, leveraging its experience in tactical training solutions for fighter, bomber, and transport aircraft.
