In order to prepare troops for contemporary threats, the Hellenic Armed Forces has introduced a state-of-the-art battle uniform. The uniform is made of modern materials and has cutting-edge features like a first aid kit, body armor, a new helmet, and specially designed shoes and apparel with integrated biometric sensors. Furthermore, it is lighter and more versatile, allowing soldiers to adapt better to different situations. With a total cost of 204 million euros ($212 million), the whole combat gear program is a component of Greece’s long-term initiatives to modernize its military.
