Nokia, Verizon, and Lockheed Martin have collaborated to incorporate commercial 5G network solutions into a telecommunications base station for military wireless communication. Nokia’s military-grade 5G network products were hosted on Lockheed’s main 5G.MIL Hybrid Base Station (HBS), a single platform that integrates hybrid data exchange for tactical applications across multiple domains. The trials included the transfer of data between Verizon’s Boston Innovation Center, Lockheed’s HBS components in Pennsylvania, and Nokia’s 5G portfolio.
