Taiwan has received its initial shipment of MGM-140 Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS) from the United States, marking a notable boost to its defense capabilities. Although the number of units delivered was not disclosed, a Taiwanese military source confirmed to state media CNA that the batch includes the system’s extended-range variant, capable of hitting targets up to 300 kilometers (186 miles) away. This development enhances Taiwan’s long-range precision strike capacity, enabling coverage of strategic locations on the Chinese mainland.
