The US Army has expanded its order of Medium Equipment Trailers by contracting Oshkosh Defense for 55 additional units at a cost of $27.6 million.
This order contributes to a five-year plan to deliver a total of 557 METs. The Army previously ordered 57 trailers for $27.3 million.
Oshkosh stated that METs are key to meeting the logistics and mobility demands of modern combat operations.
These trailers are vital for transporting tanks and equipment in difficult terrain.
The production will be handled in collaboration with Dutch supplier Broshuis BV, though delivery dates were not shared.
