Britain has announced a structured upgrade program for the Army’s Titan and Trojan armored engineer vehicles, marking a mid-life refresh of platforms that have been in service since the early 2000s. The initiative will proceed in two stages, encompassing design work, trials, and full production, with combined contract values exceeding £139 million before tax. Defence Equipment and Support has shortlisted Rheinmetall BAE Land Systems as the sole viable contractor under a direct award framework, emphasizing the company’s unique technical qualifications and responsibility for platform integration. Deliveries are planned through 2033, ensuring continued operational relevance of the more than 60 Titan and Trojan vehicles currently in service. The modernization effort aims to sustain battlefield mobility, survivability, and engineering support capabilities within the British Army’s armored formations.
