MBDA has enhanced its MISTRAL 3 air defense missile to effectively counter fast inshore attack craft (FIAC), a common naval threat. The improvements, validated in a Spanish live-fire test, include refined guidance and imaging systems, allowing accurate targeting—even at night. The missile, already field-proven against drones with low heat signatures, now serves as a multipurpose defense option for both land and sea-based platforms.
