CAE Defense & Security has won a contract to deliver training support services to operators of cutting-edge rotary-wing aircraft in the US Army.
About 900 aviators will receive “comprehensive” training for instructor pilots, maintenance evaluators, and non-rated crew members as part of the $180 million agreement.
The Sikorsky UH-60M Black Hawk will be among the aircraft that American and foreign citizens need training on, along with the Boeing CH-47F Chinook and AH-64E Apache helicopters.
The program is anticipated to double the number of UH-60 instructors and increase training assistance to meet the expanding student population.
CAE will manage related tasks for a first year, with the possibility of extending them until 2030 if all contract options are used.
The program will be carried out in collaboration with the 110th Aviation Brigade and the US Army Aviation Center of Excellence, which are in charge of the service’s flight training initiatives.
