Tokyo’s Fire Department has selected Airbus Helicopters to supply a new H225, replacing an older model to modernize its fleet. This acquisition underscores the department’s dedication to rapid-response readiness across aerial firefighting, search and rescue, emergency medical services, and disaster relief missions. The H225 will feature a dedicated search-and-rescue mode for swift target detection and carry onboard stretchers for immediate patient care. Its belly-mounted water tank enhances firefighting capability, enabling quick, precise drops in critical situations. Japan already operates 24 H225s through the Ministry of Defence and various civil agencies, employing them for everything from VIP transport to delivering essential supplies. The addition of this helicopter will ensure continued high performance in lifesaving operations nationwide.
