On October 17, 2024, GE Aerospace revealed that Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in Bangalore will handle the assembly and testing of its proven engines, maintaining a partnership since 1986. India’s missile vessels, designed for advanced anti-surface warfare and speeds up to 35 knots, will use six LM2500 marine gas turbine kits and additional support systems supplied by GE Aerospace.
