
In a framework follow-on deal for the purchase of soldier-systems, Rheinmetall has received up to 3.1 billion euros ($3.2 billion) from the German defense acquisition agency. By 2030, the biggest contract ever made for soldier-systems will see the production and delivery of a maximum of 368 Infantry Soldier of the Future – Enhanced System (IdZ-ES) platoon systems. A platoon system consists of 34 individual soldier-systems and peripheral components, such as “IT-equipment, optics, optronics, as well as military clothing, protection, and carrying equipment.”
