India’s Tejas Mark 2 fighter represents a major evolution of the Tejas aircraft family and is designed to serve as a medium-weight fighter with improved endurance and combat capability. The aircraft features an extended airframe measuring around 14.6 meters, allowing it to carry more fuel, advanced avionics, and additional payload while maintaining balanced flight characteristics. One of the key design features of the Tejas Mk2 is the inclusion of close-coupled canards near the front of the aircraft. These canards enhance maneuverability and improve control during high-angle-of-attack maneuvers. The aircraft also uses advanced composite materials that reduce weight while improving structural strength and fatigue resistance.
