Taiwan is preparing to introduce a $20–30 billion special military budget to enhance drone and missile capabilities amid growing threats from China. The funds will go toward procuring attack drones, missiles, and upgraded command systems, with purchases from US and domestic firms. A recent deal with Anduril and plans to produce nearly 49,000 drones by 2027 demonstrate Taiwan’s focus on unmanned defense. The proposal is the fourth of its kind and remains politically contested within the country.
