For anti-mine operations, Sweden has agreed to purchase an unknown quantity of its autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV), the AUV62-MR, from Saab. By identifying potential threats, the AUV62-MR is intended to aid the navy in conducting underwater reconnaissance operations. It has the ability to map huge areas of the seabed and produce high-resolution sonar images in order to locate and categorize underwater mines as well as other items that may represent security dangers.
