The Spanish government has agreed to purchase 25 Eurofighter planes from the Munich-based, Germany, NATO Eurofighter and Tornado Management Agency (NETMA). The order, which is known as the Halcon II program, will see the delivery of 21 of the most recent generation single-seat and four twin-seat Eurofighter aircraft to take the place of a portion of the Spanish Air and Space Force’s fleet of F-18s. The agreement, which follows a prior contract signed in 2022 for a batch of 20 fighter jets, will increase the size of the Spanish Eurofighter fleet to 115 aircraft. These new airplanes will improve Spain’s airpower capacity and operations, with the first delivery scheduled for 2030.
