Singapore has advanced its next-generation naval fleet with the keel-laying ceremony of the second Victoria-class Multi-Role Combat Vessel, RSS Valour (89), carried out by ST Engineering. Part of a six-ship program announced in 2023, the Victoria-class vessels are designed to serve as highly capable combatants while also supporting unmanned systems operations. The ships will feature a full-electric propulsion system, modern missile armament, and facilities for aviation and extended deployments. Following the launch of the lead vessel last year, the program is progressing steadily, with the navy scheduled to induct the new ships from 2028 onward to enhance maritime security and regional presence.
