M1 and Robinson have partnered to field the R66 helicopter for the US Army’s next-generation training initiative, replacing UH-72 Lakotas and older training aircraft. The plan integrates the R66 with advanced simulators, AI-driven environments, and M1’s extensive fleet-support capabilities. The helicopter features the RR300 turboshaft, modern digital avionics, a rugged airframe, crash-resistant fuel cells, and NVG-ready systems. With nearly 2,000 units already in service, the R66 offers a proven platform for military training, combining performance, lower operating costs, and strong US-based manufacturing.
