The UK Ministry of Defence has extended QinetiQ’s role in supporting the RAF’s Typhoon fighter fleet through a £205-million, five-year contract focused on advanced engineering services. The deal aims to maintain combat effectiveness, ensure aircrew safety, and reduce sustainment costs through faster fault resolution and improved technical support. Central to the effort is increased use of digital engineering and artificial intelligence, backed by a £10-million investment from QinetiQ. Delivered via the Aurora partnership, the contract supports both UK and export Typhoon operators. As the RAF’s frontline air-defense fighter, the Typhoon will continue to play a critical role in national and expeditionary operations well into the next two decades.
