The Portuguese Navy’s six incoming Viana do Castelo-class offshore patrol boats will receive navigation solutions from OSI Maritime Systems under the terms of a contract. The company’s Integrated Navigation and Tactical System (INTS) is required by the agreement to assist the fleet’s “paperless” transits at sea. The technology includes the Canadian firm’s premier Electronic Chart Display and Information System 7 (ECPINS 7), which was developed in accordance with NATO’s bathymetric, water space, and tactical symbol requirements.
