Germany’s Rheinmetall and Poland’s state-owned PGZ have signed a memorandum of understanding to launch a joint venture for armored support vehicles, marking a new chapter in European defense industrial collaboration. The planned European Support Vehicles Center will develop and produce recovery, mine-clearance, and bridge-laying systems for the Polish military. The initiative builds on Rheinmetall’s experience in combat-engineering solutions and PGZ’s national network of factories and research centers. The partnership aims to strengthen Poland’s self-reliance and position it as a regional hub for armored vehicle production and maintenance supporting NATO operations. Rheinmetall, already active in Poland through its Warsaw subsidiary, will bring design and technology transfer expertise, while PGZ contributes industrial capacity and workforce development. The center is expected to enhance standardization, joint training, and export potential within Central Europe’s rapidly growing defense market. The agreement reflects broader European efforts to increase industrial synergy and reduce dependence on external suppliers for critical military equipment.
