The Czech Republic has selected American defense company Gentex Corporation to supply advanced ballistic helmets and integrated communication headsets for its armed forces. The contract, worth over one billion Czech korunas, was arranged through the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) to streamline multinational defense equipment acquisition. Under this agreement, Gentex will provide its Ops-Core helmet line, including lightweight ballistic helmets and modular accessories such as visors, jaw guards, and face shields. The package also includes AMP communication headsets, push-to-talk systems, and Special Operations Tactical Respirators with built-in microphones designed for use in hazardous environments. Together, these systems form a fully integrated protection and communication suite aimed at improving troop safety, coordination, and efficiency on the battlefield. The helmets and headsets will enhance the wearer’s situational awareness and allow secure, clear communication during combat operations. The NSPA will coordinate production and logistics between Gentex and the Czech Ministry of Defence, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with NATO standards. Gentex will also provide training, fitting, and long-term technical support for the Czech military. Deliveries of the full suite are expected to be completed by October 2026. The initiative represents one of the Czech Republic’s largest investments in soldier modernization, aligning with NATO’s focus on interoperability and advanced personal equipment. Gentex has a strong reputation for supplying protection and communication systems to militaries worldwide. The Czech selection further strengthens transatlantic industrial cooperation in defense technology.
