Denmark has committed to acquiring Lockheed Martin’s TPY-4 air surveillance radar to improve long-range monitoring of its airspace and reinforce NATO’s northern defenses. The system will be deployed at three strategic locations, providing wide-area coverage across the Baltic Sea, North Atlantic, and Arctic approaches. The TPY-4’s advanced detection range and persistent surveillance capabilities will allow Danish forces to monitor aircraft movements, including potential Russian activity near NATO borders. Funded through a major parliamentary allocation, the radar program aligns with Denmark’s increased focus on air and missile defense and contributes to alliance-wide situational awareness in strategically critical regions.
