L3Harris has been awarded another contract to modernize the US Marine Corps’ SATCOM terminals, enhancing throughput and multi-orbit connectivity to support emerging Joint All-Domain C2 requirements. The order covers upgrades to Panther 2 portable terminals and Ku-band transceivers, boosting power to 25 watts. Panther 2’s design supports rapid setup, modular frequency swaps, fanless cooling, and remote or local system management. Depending on configuration, the terminal fits in a single case and weighs between 63 and 74 pounds, with lightweight options below 34 pounds. The work continues L3Harris’ role in the MCWS-X program, aimed at agile, resilient satellite communications for small, distributed Marine units.
