In a strategic step to bolster the Indian Navy’s maritime strike capabilities, Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace has proposed integrating its advanced Naval Strike Missile (NSM) with the Navy’s MH-60R Seahawk helicopters.
The Indian Navy currently operates nine MH-60R helicopters, with 15 more expected by the end of 2025. Outfitting these multi-role platforms with the NSM would significantly enhance their ability to engage surface and coastal targets at extended ranges, reinforcing India’s maritime deterrence and expanding its operational reach.
