The successful completion of flight testing for the KF-21 Boramae marks a milestone in South Korea’s push for indigenous combat aircraft development. Over more than three years, the program conducted extensive testing without major incidents, validating the fighter’s performance and mission systems. Officials said the early completion reflects mature design and strong coordination among Korea Aerospace Industries, government agencies, and domestic suppliers. The KF-21 program, launched in 2015, aims to modernize the ROKAF’s fighter fleet and reduce reliance on foreign platforms. With system development set to conclude in 2026 and production aircraft already in assembly, the Boramae is positioned as a cornerstone of South Korea’s future air combat capability.
