The introduction of South Korea’s DV27K tank engine marks a major milestone for the country’s defense industry, enabling unrestricted exports of the K2 Black Panther. Developed domestically after years of testing and redesign, the engine delivers 1,500 horsepower and maintains performance in desert heat, extreme cold, and harsh operational environments. Its adoption allows South Korea to independently supply armored vehicles to international customers, with confirmed orders from Poland and Turkey and growing interest from other regions. The move strengthens Korea’s position as a fully sovereign supplier of advanced armored platforms.
