The Israeli government has approved the acquisition of next-generation corvettes and “hundreds” of Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTVs) to bolster its armed forces. As per a Ministry of Defense announcement, the Israeli Navy is set to receive five advanced Reshef-class missile corvettes, which will replace its aging Sa’ar 4.5-class vessels. These new corvettes are slated for various maritime operations, including combat and patrols. Furthermore, Israel will procure an unspecified number of US-manufactured JLTVs for its maneuvering units. These vehicles will support a range of missions, such as combat, troop transport, and search and rescue.
