The first of fifteen River-class destroyers for the Royal Canadian Navy will be developed by Irving Shipbuilding, which is located in Nova Scotia. The contract, which has an original worth of 8 billion Canadian dollars ($5.5 billion), formalizes the six-year construction of the program’s first three ships: the Fraser, the Saint-Laurent, and the Mackenzie. The terms include the supply of replacement parts, maintenance services, and essential training for the operation and maintenance of the future ships.
