The Spanish Air and Space Force has taken delivery of its first A400M transport aircraft equipped with Indra’s InShield directed infrared countermeasures system. Airbus integrated the system at its Seville facility before handing the aircraft over for operational evaluation. InShield uses high-speed processing and laser countermeasures to defeat infrared-guided missile threats and may be expanded fleet-wide pending assessment results.
